Tuscany is a pearl of Italy and Florence is a pearl of Tuscany. Who after watching the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun" didn't want to go there and see everything for themselves. Gorgeous views, handsome men, grand buildings, little streets and cute cafes. All that in Florence, where each building is better than the last.
You can walk around the city or get lost in nature (on your way to Basilica di San Miniato al Monte for example) when you don't feel like being in the crowd anymore. You can spend at least half a day on Piazza del Duomo alone.
